Maud School serves the village of Maud and the surrounding rural area. It is approximately 5 miles west of Mintlaw and 12 miles north of Ellon. It was built over 130 years ago and was opened on 28 April 1896. We are part of the Mintlaw Community School Network. Mintlaw Academy is the designated secondary school.
For 2026-27 the pupils are divided into four classes – P1/2, P3/4, P5/6 and P6/7. The Head Teacher has a teaching commitment and is class committed for part of the week.
There are five teaching classrooms, a library, a central hall, 2 work/play areas, a staff room and a school office.
At present we have a number of part time Pupil Support Assistants (PSAs) to support the children in school.
A breakfast club is run by local volunteers on a Thursday morning from 8:30am-8:55am.
There are various extra curricular clubs associated with the school and/or the Friends of Maud School Parent Council. Within the village there is a children's football team called Maud Kids Football and netball training runs afterschool on a weekly basis. Other extra curricular opportunities, such as Lego Club, are available through Maud Village Trust.
